Gulab Jamun


Ingredients:For Gulab Jamun

  • 1/2 cup Milk Powder
  • 2 tablespoon All purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon melted Ghee
  • 3 tablespoon Milk
  • Pinch of Soda

Ingredients:For Sugar Syrup

  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 3/4 cup Water
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cardamom Powder
  • Few drops of Rose water
  • Few strands of Saffron
  • Ghee for deep-frying
  • Sliced almonds for garnishing

Direction for Gulab Jamun

  1. In a bowl add milk powder,flour and soda. Mix it well.
  2. Add ghee to it and again mix it well. 
  3. With the help of milk make a soft dough.
  4. Divide the dough into equal portion balls.
  5. Grease your hands with ghee and make crack free ball from dough.
  6. Heat the ghee on low heat.
  7. Put the balls in ghee and fry on low heat until they are dark brown .

Direction for syrup

  1. Take water in a pan, add sugar, cardamom powder,rose water and saffron. 
  2. Boil it at medium heat.
  3. When sugar dissolve and syrup starts boiling, lower down the heat.
  4. Boil for another 2-3 minute and then close down the heat.
  5. Add gulab jamun in it and cover for at-least 20 minute.


Note: To check readiness of ghee for frying, put a small amount of dough in ghee if dough comes up immediately then ghee is too hot wait. When dough takes time to come then ghee is at perfect stage for frying.
